World Spine Day.
World Spine Day, World Arthritis Day, and the International Day of the Older Person.

World Spine Day, observed annually on October 16, and it’s aim is to promote spinal health by highlighting the importance of posture, physical activity, and proper lifting to prevent and manage back pain and other spinal conditions. It serves as a reminder to people of all ages about the rising global burden of spinal disorders and encourages proactive steps for lifelong spinal wellbeing.
This year the focus of the day is simple: to take actionable steps for better spinal health.
- Staying Active: Engaging in regular physical activity like walking, swimming, or running.
- Good Posture: Maintaining good posture at home, work, and school.
- Healthy Habits: Adopting a healthy lifestyle, including weight loss and avoiding smoking.
- Safe Lifting: Learning to lift heavy objects correctly to avoid straining the spine
Studies have shown chiropractic care to be twice as effective for the treatment of lower back pain compared to other traditional methods. If you would like to make an appointment with one of our Chiropractors, please call on 9791 1053.
The primary objective of chiropractic adjustments is to restore proper alignment and movement, which can have far-reaching effects on overall health.
October 12, World Arthritis Day, was established in 1996 to raise global awareness of arthritis. Every year the Arthritis Foundation elevates this special day to spread the word about the disease’s far-reaching impact.
Although it’s one of the most common diseases in the world, there is no cure for arthritis, and many people are unaware of its potent physical, emotional and economic impact.
Arthritis is an inflammatory condition that causes pain and stiffness in joints that often worsens with age. Chiropractic care can be one of the most beneficial treatments for sufferers of arthritis. Using gentle manipulation techniques, chiropractic care can help manage pain, improve flexibility and release tension in joints which could lead to decreased stiffness and reduced soreness.

The International Day of Older Persons is celebrated annually on October 1st to honour the contributions of older people and raise awareness about the challenges of aging.
Chiropractic care can benefit the elderly by alleviating pain, improving mobility and balance, and reducing the risk of falls, often through gentle manipulation, soft tissue therapy, and specific exercises. Treatments can help manage osteoarthritis, improve neurological function, and enhance overall quality of life. However, it’s important to gain professional personalised advice and tailored treatment plans.
At Walkley, we can assist with this. If you would like to make an appointment with one of our Chiropractors, please call on 9791 1053.
