BIOMECHANICAL WEDGES

Biomechanical wedges are one of many tools a chiropractor has at their disposal to treat mechanical lower back pain. By placing wedges in various positions under the body, a chiropractor can treat very gently a range of lower back complaints. The wedges rely on a combination of positioning and a patients own body weight acting through gravity, to mobilize the pelvic joints and affect their associated musculature. Biomechanical wedges are used in pregnant patients, patients that prefer gentle mobilization techniques for their lower back, acute patients and the elderly.
